What's making you smile today?
In other news, Harry and the Potters show on Tuesday!
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack time... Show us one of your meals today.
It was kinda magical that my gummy bears and Aaron's snapple came out to exactly $2.00 at Wal-Mart today. It was a lot of bears, though. This picture was taken outside Target while we were trying to figure out what to do about his computer. I ate the whole tub in the span of like two hours because of different stressors (which have now been resolved, don't worry) and I still do not feel like eating anything ever again. But they were delicious.
In other news, I'm excited about seeing my boyfriend tomorrow even if I do have to be around athleticism for an extended amount of time. Maybe I can convince him to drive by Krankies on our way home since it's in Winston. :) We also established today that I am not a wiener?

Today was relatively low-key in terms of days. Heck, it's been a low-key existence for a while. Yesterday I did something a little fancy and put on some makeup for my date-turned-double-date with Kelsea and Aaron and Chuck. We went to this brewhouse/pub called Natty Greene's and I was a little disappointed that they didn't have the veggie burger that I originally wanted to get. The substituted black-bean burger was spicier but still delicious. Afterwords, Chuck and I bought two slices of cheesecake and snuck them into the movie theater. We saw The Happening with Zooey Deschanel and I was let down. Not enough to consider it a waste of a movie experience, but the acting was a little too dry and awkward to please me. It really makes me want to watch The Village, so I think Chuck and I are going to have a movie night in the near future. :) The cheesecake was delicious.
Today, despite being low-key, was annoying. The heat was aggravating and I was completely happy to finally return home and snuggle for a while. I also got to try out the new grapefruit soap, shampoo, and conditioner I had purchased. I bought the soap independantly from the rest when I was close to running out and bought the shampoo and conditioner yesterday. They all clean very well and make my skin feel good, but I don't smell like grapefruit. :( I should go buy some grapefruit deodorant or mouthwash next, perhaps.
Using my prophetic skills, I forsee that tonight is going to consist of a foray into previously-ignored video games.
running from the voices
filling up my brain
I wish they'd leave me alone
and let me be / to go off on my own
let me be to go home
I feel like going home.
I found a bunch of kitty stickers and they make me really happy. I've been putting them on everything but I also don't want to run out. I really enjoy the option of being able to put stickers on stuff when I want to.
Chuck and I went to Krankies and walked around downtown Winston earlier today and it was lovely. He was so hyper from espresso that we were giggling about 90% of the walk. Before our city adventure, also, we got into a ticklefight something fierce because I was being grumpy. I'm glad my dad wasn't home because I think he may have been alarmed by my screams of, "PLEASE STOP! I can't breathe!"
So all in all, a wonderful day.
I've been taking a lot of pictures of food lately. So here's a picture of what Chuck drank to make him so hyper. I usually feel guilty drinking espresso made with milk and whipped cream, but it was just a sip and he paid for it.
Tomorrow, Erin and I are going to spend the day playing Pokemon Puzzle Quest. Back in our younger days, we rented this N64 game and spent about 12-14 hours playing it until daybreak. Now since my Gamecube got pawned and I don't have an AV cable for my 64, we're going to download it from the VC on the Wii and try to relive some of our former glory.
I spent the last two days at UNCG for my "Spartan Orientation and Registration." Even though the schedule was rigorous and we didn't have much time alloted for sleep, it was a pleasant experience. I met a few people including this one music major who talked with me about having a love for Charles Bukowski and tattoos and an art major who added me on facebook and has a really cute personality. They also gave us a lot of delicious, free, food.
I got accepted into the honors college and although I'm worried about the requirements, I think I can do it. One huge part is a semester (15 weeks) abroad.. but the (un)catch is you only pay UNCG tuition for the semester and you get a $1000 grant for other expenses to go along with the four semesters of language you have to complete. My adviser started me on a tough course of German when we registered for classes, so hopefully I'll get that done and get to use the knowledge.
Speaking of classes, this is the way I registered for my first semester of college:
Monday:
Introductory German 10am - 11:50am
Female Perspectives and Culture Through History 2pm - 3:15pm (a honors course that's luckily required by my major!)
Tuesday:
Introduction to Narrative 8am - 9:15am (I placed out of English 101, 102, and 104)
Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies 11am - 12:15pm
Introduction to Art 2pm - 3:15pm
Honors Proseminar 3:30pm - 5pm (for the honors college, a weekly "proseminar" is required)
Wednesday:
German 10am - 11:50am
Female Perspectives 2pm - 3:15pm
Thursday:
Intro to Narrative 8am - 9:15am
Intro to WGS 11am - 12:15pm
Intro to Art 2pm - 3:15pm
Friday:
German 10am - 11:50am
Pretty exciting I think. Also exciting is that I get to see Charles tomorrow. We have a double date with Kearstin and Mike on Monday, but we figured that we needed two days to fully experience it. :)
I have a huge craving for bread now. I should eat some cereal or something.. I haven't eaten since I had two tacos with Brittany, Cordell, Samich, and Bragi about five hours ago. If it was during the day, I would be fine, but at night I desire more food. Read: I eat when I'm bored.
Anyway, speaking of tacos, it was really nice to randomly see Jorge through the drive-through window in tuberculosis. Cordell was ordering and Samia looks across the counter and spies Jorge receiving his food so he drives around, parks, and comes inside to eat with us. A nice little turn of fate!
Either way, tomorrow, Erin and I are going driving around in her new car and I suspect it will be another late night for me. There is something so stifling about it being summer.
This weekend has been pretty exciting, you know, with the whole high school graduation stuff. I want to write something really meaningful about it but that's not going to happen. The rest of the day was spent eating a lot of restaurant food with friends and family, not to mention a mall excursion in the heat to spend some graduation money. Today was a lot more of the same, except with new shoes and a clean room. I love Samia and Chuck dearly for being motivated to clean all the dirt out of my room when there's no way in the world that I would. That sounds bad, doesn't it?
These are the Dolce Vita shoes that I bought today and forced myself to wear in order to break them in. The heat helped a lot. I'm in love with them. It'll also give me a good excuse to clean the crud out of my birks, too.
I'm in a very mellow mood right now. I finally sent an email back to my roommate in the fall, Chelsea. I'm also catching up with my bestest Muldercult buddies, too. I really have not been motivated to update Vox at all, though. I guess I just don't have much to say.
By the way, we're still planning that darned picnic. Please reply with your schedule for the next week (you don't have to go into much detail, just the times you're available) and we'll work something out. I was thinking Wednesday afternoon, considering Thursday and Friday Kearstin and I will be at UNCG for orientation. But who knows what's good for everyone!
