Here is that song I think I mentioned in my last post. It's so beautiful.. I've been listening to it forever. Her voice has such a distinct characteristic and it's just.. haunting!
Speaking of music, I've been on a downloading spree today. More and more Bjork, The Mountain Goats, Serj Tankian (finally!) and some other stuff that I'm forgetting. It's so delightful to have new music to listen to, take in, and digest. It's almost frightening at first, but it usually turns out okay in the end I think. :)
Here's another picture I took of my koi fish for a community on Livejournal that I've been a member of for a while. I got so many compliments that I'm paranoid it's just some elaborate joke. But, I guess not. My leg is still really swollen, but I don't think me walking around on it all day helped much at all. Ice packs and elevated legs are nice.
My nana and I went shopping today for dorm room stuff. We originally went to Sears (she worked there for like 30 years and gets a discount even though she's retired) but she was disappointed with the selection so we only got some pillows there. We bought a bunch of stuff at Target, because they had so much cute stuff! I'm so excited to snuggle into my quilt and micro-fleece blanket and all this stuff. It's making me really excited to move, but at the same time, I'm really nervous because I really have no clue what I need to bring aside from the obvious stuff. I guess I shouldn't stress so much, because I was originally worried that my dad didn't want to pay for any of this stuff but it turned out okay in the end. So optimism is good!
I've been keeping in touch with Kearstin (who is in California visiting family) via email over the past few days, and it's super fun just to write these elaborate letters to each other about the entirety of what's been going on. She also has a wicked sense of humor that makes me giggle. For instance, in this past email, she told me that everyone down there is a "Molly Mormon" who wants to make babies for the rest of their lives to "continue their family name." She said that her rebuttal was that she was just going to live forever so she doesn't have to worry about passing down anything. <3
Tomorrow, Chuck is coming over after work to spend the night with me and we're going off cavorting around Kernersville to gather some needed items. I am positively stoked.

I realized that I haven't posted a meaningful update in forever.. but c'est la vie. Right now, I'm half-watching Aaron play Grand Theft Auto with a bunch of cheat codes on. His character is currently beating the crap out of the police department with a bouquet of flowers.
Summer has been nice, mostly consisting of getting coffee at Krankies and spending late nights watching/playing video games. Also, missing my boyfriend while he does responsible stuff like work and pay attention to his family.
Speaking of family, my dad is leaving this Saturday and spending two consecutive weeks in Dubai and Copenhagen for business marketing. No, partying every night is not on the schedule.. but Aaron and I might hook up my ps2 to my dad's TV and lounge on his extremely squishy foam-mattress bed. We could probably do that while he's home, though, so that's not all that exciting.
Oh, this wasn't a meaningful update, either.

My mom and I had some pretty delicious Mexican food, and I bought her some coffee in return for her buying me some herbal cough drops. We talked and talked and talked... and it was nice! We hardly ever spend time together, especially now that I'm working and she's working and going to AA meetings and spending more time at Krankies than I do, no joke. Anyway, now I'm home again and, for once, don't have anything to be doing. It's been a wonderful night.
However, this respite has to end, and of course I'm working tomorrow and Saturday. Thankfully, I get my check tomorrow, and, well.. get to sleep in on Saturday before I have to go to work? Yeah, that's good enough. I really prefer working on Thursday nights because I get my check then and can actually deposit it in the bank before too long. I thought some banks were open on Saturday morning, but I actually don't think so now. Either way, it's going to be a-okay. I'll get those sexy headphones I've been longing for eventually!
School lately has been a slight pain considering the fact I've had to leave 4th period early two days in the week, completely missing it today. Either way, it's not that horrible, but I really would prefer not having to deal with it since it feels almost unnecessary spending time at Glenn. It would be too amazing to think about just going to the CC in the morning and then coming home and working nights.
Again with the music! I've been listening to a bunch of new, different stuff, and this is something else awesome. :)
